The Howe Yoon Chong - PSA Scholarship is to honour the late Mr Howe Yoon Chong, a visionary Singaporean who has made significant contributions to Singapore, including the building of Singapore's first container terminal. To honour him, PSA has set up a $15 million endowment fund, with contributions from PSA and Temasek Holdings, to award bond-free scholarships to Singapore citizens. Those who are admitted to ITE are eligible for the Scholarship if they meet the stipulated criteria, as follows :
1.1 Is a Singapore citizen aged 25 and below;
1.2 Has gross monthly household per capita income below $750;
1.3 The aggregate score for Mathematics and best 3 subjects not excceding 9 point;
1.4 Has a good track record in CCA; and
1.5 Has participated/demonstrated ability/contributed in any of the following areas :
· Leadership and entrepreneurial skills
· Community work
· Innovation in science and technology
· Arts/ design/ music
2 The scholarship will pay for the following for the duration of the ITE course :
2.1 Annual tuition and other compulsory fees (annual) – this will be paid direct to ITE;
2.2 Monthly living allowance of $300 – this will be paid direct to the recipient; and
2.3 Annual book allowance of $200 – this will be paid direct to the recipient
3 Application for the Howe Yoon Chong-PSA Scholarship is now open. Applicants are required to submit their applications on-line.
